It wouldn't be my first time tinkering on a car, meaning I plan to do some mods myself starting with the coilovers. I would probably want to lower it a bit, but only once I manage to install them. So, has anyone diy this and how much of an issue should I expect?

I wouldn't call it the simplest of projects, butt it's far from extremely complicated. A set of jackstands, socket and torque renches and you'll be good to go. Finding a service manual can be helpful, or you can check Hayne's website to see if they have one. Follow the guide and you should be fine. The biggest struggle would probably be a stuck bolt
