Unplugged wire in my 2017 Corolla SE

While checking under the dash of my 2017 Toyota Corolla SE, I noticed an unplugged wire just hanging there. I haven't had any issues or warning lights, but it's bothering me not knowing what it's for and I haven't done any recent mods or installs either. I'd really appreciate any insight or even a wiring diagram if someone has one

Yeah. I get what you mean, wires hanging out here and there usually bothers me too!

Some have spotted similar loose connectors under the dash which is often unused plugs for optional features like the door lock beeper or accessories that weren't installed. If everything's working fine, it might just be one of those. did you check under the hood for anything unplugged too?

I get why that would bug you. A lot of Corollas have extra connectors for options that never got installed, so if everything works, it's probably nothing critical.

I agree with the rest, it's quite possible it's an unused connector for an option your Corolla isn't equipped with.
It's hard to say for without seeing but it's quite common!
If you're really concerned, I suggest you take your car to the dealer to identify it or to ask for a wiring diagram!

Right, and yeah finding a random unplugged wire with no explanation is crazy annoying. Toyota often leaves extra connectors in the harness for different trim levels.

Here's a quick tip for anyone with a Toyota seeing a dangling connector. If you see yellow on the cable or connector, don't touch it, it's for the airbag. This tip becomes especially handy if the battery is connected, you wouldn't want a small explosive device blowing up in your face.
