Tire recommendations

The tires on my corolla were old and bald, so plan to replace them, so I'm looking for some good tires that won't cost an arm and a leg. While I'm at it, I wanted to ask about going for wider tires, is it doable without rubbing? The ones at the moment are 195, so how wide can I go before I'll need wack the wheel arches with a hammer?

For budget friendly tires, brands like Michelin, Goodyear and Hankook have options that won't drain your wallet. As for width, you can usually go up to 205 or 215 without hammering the arches but always doublecheck the rim width and clearance just to play it safe. Happy shopping!

I swapped out my Corolla's tires for 205s, and they fit perfectly without rubbing. I did have to check the clearance carefully, but it was smooth sailing once I got them on
