tire pressure sensor issue

i got a '14 corolla, hitting 100k soon.. last weekend, my tire pressure light kept coming even though my tire pressure was fine. took it to the tire shop, told me there were 2 bad sensor. they recommnded replacing all 4 but thought i'd just have the 2 replaced for now. was it a good decision? anyone here had similar issues with their tire pressure sensor while still below 100k?

If its a bad sensor and you're a 100% sure your tire pressure seems fine then the problem might be the sensor, try resetting it.

I agree with wayne, you need to reset the TPMS. there's usually a reset button for this

the sensor have built in bateries and if yours weren't changed at all, then you were running 11 year old sensors which is more than what most last. As for replacing just two it's a good way to save a few bucks, but the other two may give out soon, so I'm not sure if it's worth it

If two of the TPMS sensors are bad, it's totally okay to just replace those. The battereis in these sensors typically last around 5 to 10 years, so it's normal to change them out over time. Some folks go ahead and replace all four at once to avoid any future issues, but your way is a good way to save some money right now. Just make sure to keep an eyee on the other sensors as they get older

@z1mm3z00m My husband had one go out on his'13 around 95K, then the others followed about a year later, you'll probably end up replacing the other two eventually

I'm agree with you here, about replacing just the two bad ones for now, makes sense financially. Why spend extra if the others are still working, right?
