Not that I'm hoping that someone's in a similar situation, but I need advice..
I got a trusty 2007 Corolla, pushing 250k+ miles, and it's been good until it started making this awful grinding noise.
I jacked it up, checked the tires but no weird wear or bulges. I tried wiggling the wheels, top to bottom, side to side but they're just solid. I did more tests on jack stands.. driving in reverse, I get the grinding sound but it goes away after some time and both wheels spin.. in drive, noise is more constant and only wheel on the passenger side spins..
I'm guessing the sound can come from the transmission area but not 100% sure.. any ideas?
