Brake noise over bumps

Getting ready for fall here in Michigan and my roommate's 2021 Toyota Corolla LE is starting to act up again. There's this odd clunk from the front end when braking over uneven pavement but only when it's chilly in the morning. It was quiet all summer so we kind of forgot about it but now that temps are dropping, it's back.

Has anyone had this happen with their Corolla? Could it be something with the suspension or maybe the brake calipers shifting? Still under warranty but it's hard to show the dealer since it disappears by midday.

If your brakes clunk when it's cold, it probably means the stuff holding your calipers is loose or your suspension bushings are worn out. Write down when it happens based on the weather. That way, if you need to use your warranty or for reference, they can figure out what's wrong easier.

Thanks for your reply and for highlighting a few areas for us to check. We've started logging when the noise happens, along with the morning temperatures, as you suggested. The noise always shows up when it's below 60 degrees, so we're planning to schedule a service appointment soon. Before we go to the dealer, is it possible to check the caliper guide pins or suspension bushings for looseness ourselves by turning the wheel and using a flashlight? We want to give the service department as much detail as we can to help them resolve it under warranty.
